90. All I ever need

I just came back

to these few lines

I left

unfinished

unconnected and

adrift

like the ones

from a morning

a couple of weeks ago

when I was woken up

by a jasmine scented

breeze

coming in through

a tiny gap in the curtain

cut by the sharp edge

of the first morning rays

that also set

a vantage point

from my bed

to see

the blooming flowers

on my neighbor's patio

I needed nothing

but to close my eyes

and let that fragrance

take me back to you

where I

have always belonged

I know

there has been

different times

places

people

in our lives

and

we've been

different people

before

but we

have learned

to see beyond

this conception

of time

in the order

of happenings

and equating

being really present

with just filling

a given space

near us

I can feel you

everyday

in every corner

every semaphore

and every song

You are

cut deep

in my skin

like carvings

on a stone wall

A wall

where we once melted

back into one

by our burning flames

where I held you

and gave you my all

for you to keep

There's a Palace

awaiting

beyond that wall

but all we need

to know now is

we won't be adrift

anymore
